This year it took some consideration on choosing where to go. Last year we went to France. Countryside that is. And altough the kids had a great time, which is considerably important we were ehm… A bit bored.
So this year we wanted something else. Choosing a holiday is more challenging nowadays if you ask me. Apart from the obvious things to consider, you don’t want it to be to hot (at least I don’t) and the budget isn’t endless either. Therefore flying is soon out of the equation. With a family of 4 and serious luggage you spend 4-5k easily. And since even driving to the south of Spain turned out to be a enjoyable experience, we were looking within a radius of 1500km so we could do it in one night straight.
We soon came across the islands Corsica and Sardine. Both islands have a lot to offer. If this isn’t the first story you’ve read about us you know what we like: – Hiking, – Snorkeling, – Nature, – Culture, – culinary etc. With this in mind, both Islands would serve us well. But, we choose to do both.
I had a pretty big project going on in the beginning of this year and so I treated ourselves on a extra week of vacation. We departed wednesday the 15th of July and will return around the 8th of August. I always wanted to go back to Nice so we started off with a short stay there. From there we went to Toulon for one night and take the ferry to Corsica. We will stay there for 7 days and then take the ferry to Sardine. After being there for 7 days we take the ferry to the main land in Italy. From there we have week to drive back. So if we want we can wander off in a couply of cities or drive straight back. Either way we have almost a week to do so.

Unfortunately the plugin I use to show maps on my posts hasn’t kept up with the the latest version ow WordPress. So old maps are still showing, however i’m not able to make new ones. In the meantime i will use ugly printscreens of Google Maps.
