That blue water was luring for some time now. When scouting for a tour, it’s quite easy to get lost in all the offers from Google, Get your Guide etc.. Most of the pictures look the same. However, Nikki found a gem. A real nice looking boat, not too big so not too many people. They offered 3 stops. Within a time frame of hours that sounded relaxed. So we went for it.

Marcia welcomed us at the dock and helped us aboard. As soon as the other family was present we set off towards the first spot; Isola Tavolara. When approaching the island it doesn’t look like much, but when went around ‘the corner’ quite some land emerged. Marcia told us that the Island is owned by 2 families; Bertoleoni and Marzano.
It’s 5km long, 1km wide and the highest mountain, monte Canonne is 565m. And apparently the Italian state owns some of it as well…

When we approached the island on the right side, we saw a ‘little’ hole.

Of course this vacation we were amazed by the landscape. And if I would state it became normal I’d be lying. However, it was only when we came really close we tend to start feeling small.
