So we left on Friday 25th of oktober 2024. Although well prepared, of course I forgot my jacket at my mom’s place who I picked up earlier that morning as she takes care of our dog at our place.
So after getting the kids out of school and saying goodbye to my mom, I had to pick up my jacket in Amsterdam and normally not that far away from my girlfriends work. But of course, 30 min before leaving home a lorry had crashed which ended up in a fully congested A10. It took forever getting to the ferry. It took so long that the final boarding time had passed.
The only reason that Customs were still open was because a big bus was stuck in traffic as well, also because of the accident. Sooo MADE IT! First order of business was getting to the deck and watch the ferry leaving the harbour. Saying our goodbyes came paired with a beautiful sunset!
With much smoother seas up ahead than the previous trip we had a nice beer to celebrate on the top deck. Then we got settled in our cabin. With the four of us there wasn’t much space, but we managed. After dinner we said goodbye to the sea and went to bed. A bit early, but after a stressful day we had no problem falling asleep.
