The Fairy Pools

Friday November 1, 2024

Located on the northern slopes of the magnificent Black Cuillin range, you’ll find beautiful waterfalls and crystal-clear blue pools, Skye’s famous Fairy Pools. Maybe next ttime there will be a good road to take you there because 2 days after we visited the road was closed for maintenance. (whish I could say we planned this, but we were just lucky) But this time the road was really narrow and shitty.
The last time we were there the pools were closed due to storms and heavy rainfall. So we were eager to get this of our bucketlist. After parking the car and exiting the parkinglot Jesse decided to hop over the cattlegrid in stead of using the gate beside. His foot had been stuck in an angle of which you’d swear that he would need to wear a cast the rest of the holiday. But, tough as he is, he swallowed the pain, dried his tears and moved on!

After accessing the main entrance we had nice view of the path ahead.

The road ahead…

Fierce and dauntless!

Look at those (colors) being vibrant!

Jesse hopping around, Mum and dad playing with their camera and sweet Pip drifted off <3

This was somewhere between the 3rd of 10th angle

How do you like them apples!

Nikki wanted to do the full hike of 7km. We decided to just go ahead and see how it went. After a third of the trip the pools end and you walk beside te mountain. (camera sign on the map)
It took some consideration but we decided to go for it!

We figured we had enough water and food with us to make it.

Really neat how a little sunshine changes all the colors!

Oh dear...

Oh deer, someone is watching us…
